Well, we went for our visa interviews yesterday, in order to get there on time we travelled down on the Sunday. On the Sunday evening, we went to see the Proms at the Royal Albert Hall. I had always wanted to see an orchestra and I was not disappointed. It was absolutely amazing and very inspiring to see such talented people play so beautifully.
One thing spoilt the evening though, we were ascending the stairs up to our seats when we came across a RAH employee escorting a lady in a wheelchair. They were waiting for the lift. When it came, none of the people would get out, despite being visibly fit and healthy. The lady had to ask if any of the people were going to get out. It was a horrendous thing to see, I couldn't quite believe my eyes. You would imagine those people in the lift were well educated and intelligent, they probably spend their weekends bemoaning the state of British society yet they behaved so appallingly.
Anyway! We were approved for our visas despite a horrid lady treating us like imbeciles! Happy days... America here we come!
